introduction
The sphynx is a medium sized cat known for their large almond shaped eyes, large ears, and wrinkled naked skin. Sphynx are very warm and many are surprised by how they are soft to the touch! The best part about a sphynx cat, is how they love to cuddle with their owners as well as form a close bond.
Extremely friendly cats
Sphynx need social interaction, it is highly suggested to have another cat or animal companion to interact with if you plan to be gone the majority of the day.

sphynx cat breed history
First attempts to breed a Sphynx began in 1966 in Ontario Canada, where a hairless kitten was born. This hairless cat was then bred with other cats in the attempt to create more hairless kittens.
Hairlessness is a recessive gene.
Hairless cats have physical similarities with an ancient Egyptian cat sculpture named Sphinx.
Between 1975 and 1978 several natural mutation of hairless kittens where found in Minnesota and Toronto. They were then bred with the Devon Rex. Therefore the Sphynx breed traces its history to these historic cats offspring.
